About the Oak Tree Community

Oak Tree is a family-oriented community in North Dallas offering homeowners an excellent location that combines natural beauty, limited access, and a peaceful setting for families of all sizes. When development began in the early 1990s, Oak Tree was not originally conceived to be the limited access community it is today. All of the streets in Oak Tree are designed as cul-de-sacs, directing traffic primarily away from homes.

The Oak Tree Residential Association governs and maintains the business, affairs and common property that contribute to the overall ambience and property values in Oak Tree. Through the assessment of homeowner dues and fees, the Association maintains the landscaping of common areas, staffing of the front security guardhouse and gates, and maintenance of all assets owned by the Association. This community seeks to provide a quality environment for all residents and a safe and friendly place for families to live.

There are three communities of 307 homes that make up Oak Tree. Those communities are The Estates of Oak Tree, the original development, Oak Tree North, zero-lot homes and Creekside which consists of larger, custom homes.

In March 2001, Oak Tree completed transition from a developer-managed property to complete homeowner control. Currently the Board of Directors is a five member group who serve staggered two year terms. Committee volunteers assist in the management of various responsibilities and goals of the community.

The Board is empowered through the community documents, which include the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions and Bylaws. These documents give the Board the authority to adopt, amend and repeal policies and procedures as deemed necessary.
